Alan Orange                 Lichenologist

I offer professional lichen surveys for conservation, monitoring and environmental impact assessments. I have been a professional lichenologist for over 30 years, carrying out taxonomic research, and providing services for numerous environmental agencies and consultancies.

I am competent in bryophyte and vascular plant identification, and I can offer reliable surveys of bryophytes, especially freshwater and woodland species.

My research interests within lichens include those living in and beside streams and rivers, the difficult groups Verrucariaceae (found especially in freshwater, on limestone and on the sea shore) and Caloplaca (especially on limestone), and the lichens of the Falkland Islands.

I am based in Cardiff, South Wales, U.K.
